Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region as an Advanced RN Medical Review Coordinator. This role is essential in supporting quality improvement initiatives, peer review activities, and ongoing professional practice evaluations. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Screen cases for appropriate referral to peer review using critical thinking and clinical expertise.
• Review medical records to ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Communicate peer review inquiries and standards to providers in partnership with committee leadership.
• Coordinate and analyze data and reports related to peer review and quality improvement processes.
• Organize and facilitate peer review processes including Ongoing Professional Performance Evaluation (OPPE) and Focused Professional Performance Evaluation (FPPE).
• Maintain confidential peer review documentation and fulfill legal subpoenas as directed.
• Serve as a resource and educator on peer review activities, quality improvement, accreditation standards, and relevant regulations.

Education

Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required. A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is preferred.

Experience

At least five years of clinical nursing experience is necessary. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency with electronic medical record systems, strong analytical skills, and effective communication abilities. The ability to work independently and manage time efficiently is essential.

Certification and Licensure

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state or through compact licensure is required.

Mental and Physical Requirements

This position requires sustained mental concentration with frequent interruptions. Light lifting up to 15 pounds, standing, sitting, walking, and pushing are part of the daily routine.
