General Summary

The Office LPN supports clinical providers by performing patient assessments, administering treatments, conducting testing, and delivering patient education. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, detail-oriented, and able to multitask efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service in a dynamic environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Adhere to clinic policies ensuring patient safety, including infection control and safe patient handling.
• Administer medications via oral, intramuscular, and subcutaneous routes as ordered.
• Assist providers during procedures, maintain sterile fields, and manage instrument trays.
• Support examinations within the scope of licensure.
• Perform phone triage and act as a liaison between patients and providers.
• Communicate test results to patients, answer questions, and assist with follow-up calls.
• Document patient complaints and visit details accurately according to provider preferences.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain vital signs including height and weight.
• Manage and update patient medication lists and summaries.
• Conduct point-of-care lab testing and collect specimens as ordered.
• Educate patients and guardians about electronic health record portals and encourage enrollment.
• Provide patient teaching and supportive services as needed.
• Schedule diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including obtaining necessary precertifications and authorizations.
• Train new LPNs and medical assistants in clinic protocols.
• Demonstrate accountability, adaptability, teamwork, and maintain punctuality and attendance standards.

Education

Graduate of an accredited LPN program and completion of an approved IV therapy course.

Experience

Previous nursing or healthcare experience is preferred but not required.

Certification and License

Current LPN license valid in the state of Missouri. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Mental and Physical Requirements

Requires considerable mental focus. Physical demands include lifting up to 35 pounds, frequent walking, standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.

Working Conditions

Exposure to infectious diseases and occasional encounters with hostile individuals. Frequent contact with blood and other bodily fluids. Minimal physical discomfort expected.
