As an Advanced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will support physicians and mid-level providers by delivering assessments, treatments, testing, and patient education with professionalism and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere to clinic policies ensuring patient safety, including infection control and safe patient handling.
• Administer medications via oral, intramuscular, and subcutaneous routes as prescribed.
• Assist providers during procedures, maintaining sterile fields and managing instruments.
• Support examinations within the scope of your license and perform phone triage.
• Serve as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers, communicating test results and answering patient inquiries.
• Document patient complaints and visit details accurately according to provider preferences.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain vital signs, height, and weight.
• Manage and update patient medication lists and summaries.
• Perform point-of-care lab testing and collect specimens as ordered.
• Educate patients and guardians on electronic health record portals and provide supportive teaching.
• Schedule diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including obtaining necessary authorizations.
• Train new LPNs and medical assistants in clinic protocols.
• Demonstrate accountability, adaptability, teamwork, and maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.

Education

Graduation from an accredited LPN program and completion of an approved IV therapy course are required.

Experience

Previous nursing or healthcare experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Certifications and Licenses

Must hold a current LPN license valid in the state of Missouri. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Physical and Mental Requirements

This role requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 pounds, frequent walking, standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.

Working Conditions

Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases, as well as occasional encounters with hostile individuals, is expected. Minimal physical discomfort is typical.
