Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, where your skills as an Occupational Health Technician will support employee wellness and safety. This role involves assisting with occupational health operations including pre-employment screenings, immunizations, and regulatory testing. You will document services, maintain files, and support nursing staff with workers' compensation and employee leave programs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform point-of-care testing, administer vaccinations and tuberculin skin tests, obtain vital signs, and review vaccination records.
• Assist with pre-assessments of work-related injuries and report findings to licensed nursing staff.
• Provide and document respiratory fit testing and serve as backup tester when needed.
• Schedule, enter orders, and document occupational health services for employees and volunteers using electronic health record systems.
• Maintain accuracy of occupational health records and documentation.
• Coordinate employee leaves of absence including eligibility verification, notices, and return-to-work documentation.
• Support workers’ compensation processes by providing claims information and tracking injuries.
• Prepare quarterly reports on workplace violence, illness, and work-related injuries.
• Manage departmental communications, onboarding packets, and supply inventory.
• Serve as a liaison between employees, volunteers, leadership, and Occupational Health staff to ensure smooth operations.

Education: Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant or Medical Specialist program is required, or equivalent experience as a Medical Assistant. A high school diploma is also required.

Experience: At least one year of experience as a Medical Assistant or similar medical specialist is required. Experience in employee health is highly preferred.

Certifications: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through an approved accrediting organization such as the American Medical Technologist (AMT) is preferred. American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification is required.

Physical and Mental Requirements: This role requires considerable mental concentration under time pressures and interruptions. Physical demands include sitting for long periods, computer work, lifting up to 15 pounds, standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.

Working Conditions: Frequent exposure to infectious diseases, blood and body fluids, and occasional encounters with hostile individuals. Standard office environment.
