As a Patient Care Assistant (PCA), you will work under the guidance of licensed nurses to deliver direct support to patients, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout their care journey.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere to established safety protocols including infection control, safe patient handling, and timely communication of patient condition changes to nursing staff.
• Perform basic patient care tasks such as monitoring vital signs, conducting glucometer checks, assisting with toileting, feeding, bathing, and mobility activities.
• Collaborate closely with nursing personnel to meet patient needs promptly and enhance overall patient experience.
• Accurately document all care activities to support clinical decision-making and maintain quality standards.
• Effectively communicate relevant patient information to the healthcare team to promote optimal outcomes.

Education

A high school diploma or GED is preferred.

Experience

At least one year of experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is preferred.

Certification and Training

If uncertified or with less than one year of experience, candidates must complete a specialized PCA training academy. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the first 90 days of employment, with training provided.

Physical and Mental Requirements

This role demands considerable mental focus and physical activity, including lifting up to 35 pounds, frequent walking, standing, bending, and other movements necessary for patient care. Exposure to infectious diseases and occasional encounters with challenging individuals may occur.
