Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region as a Certified Surgical Technologist. This full-time role with on-call responsibilities offers an opportunity to support surgical teams by providing expert care before, during, and after surgical procedures.

General Summary

The Surgical Technologist collaborates closely with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and other surgical staff to ensure patient safety and procedural efficiency. Utilizing sterile techniques and specialized equipment, the technologist assists in the preparation and execution of surgical operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare surgical cases accurately using surgeon preference cards and appropriate instruments.
• Apply knowledge of anatomy and physiology to support surgical procedures.
• Maintain aseptic techniques, demonstrate manual dexterity, and anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
• Operate sterilization equipment following established protocols.
• Monitor and handle implantable devices with sterile technique and ensure proper function.
• Inspect and verify the functionality of surgical equipment prior to procedures.
• Maintain organized, clean, and efficient workspaces while managing time effectively.
• Perform delegated tasks under the direct supervision of the surgeon to uphold quality and patient safety.
• Demonstrate accountability, adaptability, and reliability in a fast-paced environment.

Education

Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program is required.

Experience

Previous experience as a Surgical Technologist or Surgical Nurse is preferred but not mandatory.

Certification and Licenses

• Current Surgical Technologist Certification.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Mental and Physical Requirements

This role demands considerable mental focus and physical stamina, including lifting up to 35 pounds, frequent walking, standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.

Working Conditions
