As an Authorized Public Safety Officer, you will conduct routine surveillance of healthcare properties, including foot and vehicle patrols, ensuring safety and responding promptly to calls for service across the facility and grounds.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain a professional and compassionate approach when interacting with individuals, respecting confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
• Complete daily shift logs, incident reports, and other documentation accurately and timely.
• Communicate effectively with management and departments regarding safety concerns, emergencies, or potentially dangerous situations.
• Assist in managing parking and coordinate activities during emergencies or crisis situations with calm professionalism.
• De-escalate and control disturbances to protect the welfare of all on the premises.

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduation from a Law Enforcement Academy is mandatory.

Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year of patrol officer experience or 4 years of active law enforcement detention experience.

Certifications and Licenses:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
• Must be a commissioned law enforcement officer in good standing or have held a valid commission within the last three years, with the ability to obtain commission within 90 days of employment.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Mental and Physical Requirements:

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and interpret safety policies.
• Capable of standing for extended periods and walking or running long distances, including stairs and corridors.
• Safe operation of patrol vehicles is essential.

• Interaction with patients, visitors, and staff, including potentially aggressive or abusive individuals.
