Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Midwest region as an RN Shift Manager specializing in psychiatric nursing. This role involves providing direct patient care through the nursing process, demonstrating clinical expertise, and adhering to professional nursing ethics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Implement patient safety protocols including infection prevention, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications to ensure a secure care environment.
• Maintain and care for central lines and prevent surgical site infections following established policies.
• Deliver high-quality nursing care, including medication administration, nursing interventions, and patient and family education.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments to monitor status, enhance quality, and support clinical decision-making.
• Document all patient care activities and quality monitoring data to comply with standards and improve outcomes.
• Communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare team members to optimize patient care.
• Delegate tasks appropriately while fostering teamwork and accountability.
• Engage with patients and families promptly to improve their experience and support health outcomes.
• Apply critical thinking in nursing practice and pursue continuing education to develop skills.

Education

Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.

Experience

At least one year of nursing experience is preferred.

Certification and Licensure

• Current RN license valid in the state or through compact licensure.
• Graduate nurses must obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Mental and Physical Requirements

This position requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 lbs., standing, walking, and various movements such as pushing, pulling, and twisting.
