As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Acute Medical Services, you will deliver direct patient care by applying the nursing process with clinical competence and adhering to professional ethical standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Adhere to established safety protocols including infection prevention, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications to ensure a safe care environment.
• Maintain and care for central lines while preventing surgical site infections according to policy.
• Administer medications, perform nursing interventions, and provide patient and family education to support positive health outcomes.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments to monitor status, enhance safety, and inform the healthcare team.
• Document all patient care activities and quality monitoring data to support clinical decisions and compliance with quality standards.
• Communicate effectively with physicians and team members to improve patient outcomes.
• Delegate tasks appropriately while fostering teamwork and accountability.
• Engage with patients and families promptly to enhance their experience and provide education.
• Apply critical thinking in nursing practice and pursue continuing education to develop skills.

Education

Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.

Experience

One year of nursing experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Requirements

• Current RN license in a state within the Compact Licensure system or equivalent.
• Graduate nurses must obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification from Apex Innovations.

Mental and Physical Demands

This role requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 lbs, standing, walking, and various movements such as pushing, pulling, and twisting.

Working Conditions

Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases through blood and bodily fluids is expected. Occasional encounters with hostile individuals may occur.
