Join a dynamic healthcare team in the Midwest region as a Student Nurse Intern in the Emergency Department. Under the guidance of a licensed nurse, you will engage in hands-on patient care, supporting individuals through various stages of treatment and recovery.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care tailored to age and developmental needs, assisting with daily hygiene such as bathing, grooming, and oral care.
• Provide skin care while preventing breakdown, assist with physical activities including repositioning, ambulation, range of motion exercises, and transfers.
• Support nutritional needs by preparing patients for meals, assisting with feeding, monitoring intake, and adhering to dietary restrictions.
• Collect specimens, perform vital signs, document intake and output, and assist with specialized care such as sit baths, postmortem care, and application of medical devices.
• Lead and participate in performance improvement initiatives, fostering teamwork and employee engagement.
• Perform technical nursing procedures within credentialed scope, including oxygen therapy management, catheter insertion/removal, intravenous therapy discontinuation, suctioning, dressing changes, wound care, injections, and NG tube maintenance.
• Conduct patient assessments in collaboration with the primary nurse and provide education to patients and families.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all patient care activities and promptly report any changes in patient condition or concerns.

Education

Currently enrolled in a nursing program or completed nursing education but not yet licensed.

Experience

Entry-level position; no prior experience required.

Mental and Physical Requirements

Requires significant mental focus and physical stamina, including frequent walking, lifting, turning, and other movements. Exposure to infectious diseases and potentially challenging situations is expected.
