This full-time role serves as the welcoming voice and face for a regional healthcare clinic in the Midwest. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism and exceptional customer service skills while managing front desk and telephone communications efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Promptly answer and direct telephone calls with courtesy and accuracy.
• Greet patients warmly and maintain respectful communication with patients and their families.
• Collect and accurately enter demographic and insurance information into the system.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy regulations regarding patient information.
• Schedule appointments following established protocols and assist patients with patient portal setup and registration.
• Make confirmation calls and guide patients through necessary paperwork completion.
• Handle messages promptly and update patient records during each encounter.
• Verify insurance coverage, collect co-payments, and inform patients about their financial responsibilities.
• Demonstrate accountability, work independently, adapt to change, and maintain punctuality and attendance standards.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required. Preference given to graduates of accredited medical receptionist programs or candidates with two years of healthcare experience.

Experience

Preferably two years of experience in a general medical office or similar healthcare setting with comparable responsibilities and customer service focus.

Certification

American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Mental and Physical Requirements

This position requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 lbs, frequent walking, standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a medical office environment with potential exposure to infectious diseases and occasional encounters with hostile individuals. Minimal physical discomfort is expected.
