This full-time position on the P-Shift involves continuous observation of telemetry monitors and performing essential clerical duties within the patient care unit.

General Summary

As an Arrhythmia Technician, you will be the primary communication hub at the nursing station, ensuring accurate cardiac monitoring and timely reporting of any significant changes in patient rhythms.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Adhere to established safety protocols, including infection prevention measures.
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms, identify patterns, and ensure equipment functionality.
• Remain at the monitor station unless a trained replacement is available.
• Alert nursing staff promptly about any monitoring difficulties or significant rhythm changes.
• Support unit operations with clerical tasks such as filing, printing, data entry, and supply management.
• Maintain accurate patient identification on all chart forms and prepare records for scanning.
• Document rhythm changes during treatments and update telemetry strips every four hours or as needed.
• Keep patient information boards current and answer phones with professionalism and courtesy.
• Coordinate with team members and ancillary departments to schedule tests and procedures.
• Adapt positively to changes while upholding organizational values and policies.

Education

High school diploma or GED is required.

Experience

At least one year of experience in clerical, receptionist, or hospital duties is preferred. Strong organization, time management, typing, and basic computer skills are essential.

Certification/License

Successful completion of a Basic Arrhythmia course upon hire is required.

Mental/Physical Requirements

This role demands considerable mental focus and physical activity, including lifting up to 35 pounds, frequent walking, standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.
