This role is perfect for a Registered Nurse ready to take on leadership responsibilities during shifts in a busy cardiac catheterization lab. You will oversee unit operations, ensuring patient safety and quality care are always top priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support staff compliance with patient safety protocols including infection prevention, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications.
• Provide expert nursing care such as medication administration, nursing interventions, and patient/family education.
• Maintain central lines and prevent surgical site infections following established policies.
• Monitor and coach staff on quality measures and safety standards, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments to monitor status and communicate findings to the healthcare team.
• Document patient care activities accurately to support compliance with quality initiatives.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and families to enhance care outcomes and patient experience.
• Delegate tasks appropriately while promoting teamwork and accountability within the unit.
• Adapt positively to healthcare changes and participate in educational opportunities to enhance nursing skills.

Education

Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.

Experience

At least one year of registered nursing experience is required. Experience in a cardiac catheterization lab is preferred.

Certifications and Licenses

• Current RN license valid in the state or through compact licensure.
• New graduates must obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Physical and Mental Requirements

This role requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 lbs, frequent walking, standing, and various movements such as turning, stooping, and reaching. The work environment includes exposure to infectious and communicable diseases and occasional interactions with challenging individuals.
