Job Summary

The Emergency Department RN Educator develops orientation and ongoing training for nurses, technicians, coordinators, and agency personnel. You will lead certification courses such as ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, BLS, and MANDT, and coordinate simulation drills to enhance critical care readiness. Your expertise will help maintain clinical competencies, support protocol development for trauma, stroke, cardiac, and sepsis care, and promote evidence-based practices.

Responsibilities

• Create and deliver comprehensive orientation programs for new and existing ED staff.
• Conduct continuous education sessions on emergency protocols, clinical procedures, and new medical technologies.
• Facilitate certification and recertification programs to ensure compliance and skill advancement.
• Organize simulation-based training and collaborate with simulation coordinators for realistic scenario practice.
• Assess clinical skills through direct observation and provide personalized coaching.
• Assist in developing and updating care protocols aligned with best practices.
• Collaborate with leadership on quality improvement and operational workflows to enhance patient outcomes.
• Serve as a clinical resource, offering guidance on complex cases and evidence-based care.
• Participate actively in patient safety and quality initiatives.

Education

Registered Nurse (RN) license required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Experience

Minimum 3-5 years of emergency nursing experience required. Prior experience in nursing education, staff development, or clinical instruction is highly desirable.

Licensure/Certification

Current RN license in the practicing state. Certifications required include BLS, ACLS, TNCC, ENPC, and NIHSS. Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) credential is a plus.

Mental and Physical Requirements

This role demands significant mental focus and physical activity, including lifting up to 35 lbs, standing, walking, and various movements such as stooping and twisting. Frequent exposure to infectious diseases and occasional encounters with hostile individuals may occur.

Working Conditions

Standard RN working conditions with a Monday through Friday schedule, though flexibility for evenings or weekends may be necessary to meet training demands.
