General Summary

The Plumber will handle repairs, installations, and maintenance of plumbing infrastructure, supporting various departments by prioritizing projects and maintaining detailed documentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide timely updates and follow-ups to departments requesting plumbing services.
• Perform general plumbing repairs and installations as needed, including preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Prioritize maintenance projects to meet facility needs and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor and document progress, costs, safety issues, and compliance related to plumbing tasks.
• Plan plumbing work, including estimating supply and labor costs.
• Communicate and coordinate with users and management regarding repair and financial aspects of maintenance projects.
• Adhere strictly to all safety standards and maintain clean, organized work and storage areas.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory codes.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Technical or vocational training in plumbing is necessary.

Experience

Minimum of two years of commercial plumbing experience required.

Certifications

Medical Gas Certification and Backflow Certification are preferred but not mandatory.

Mental and Physical Requirements

Must be able to stand, walk, sit, and lift up to 75 lbs. Good eyesight and steady hands are essential. Ability to perform under stress and wear an N-95 mask as required.
