General Summary

The HB Billing Manager provides strategic direction and oversight for all hospital billing functions, ensuring claims are submitted accurately and promptly. You will supervise daily billing operations, mentor team members, and serve as a key resource on billing rules and regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hospital billing rules and regulations, acting as a resource for the team.
• Supervise, train, and mentor the hospital billing team to enhance performance and professional growth.
• Evaluate and monitor team members’ on-the-job performance, providing coaching and counseling to foster positive change.
• Set clear objectives and priorities, assign tasks, and ensure high-quality work output.
• Provide leadership and sound judgment to navigate business challenges effectively.
• Oversee daily activities to address emerging issues and trends, keeping stakeholders informed of risk assessments.

Education

An associate degree in healthcare or a related field is required. Candidates with five years of hospital billing experience may substitute this requirement. A bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Work Experience

At least one year of hospital billing experience is required.

Certification/License

HFMA Certification is preferred but not mandatory.
