Key Responsibilities

• Promptly answer and direct telephone calls with courtesy.
• Greet patients warmly and communicate clearly with patients and their families.
• Accurately collect and enter demographic and insurance information into the system.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy regulations regarding patient information.
• Schedule appointments following established protocols.
• Assist patients and guardians with patient portal setup and registration.
• Make confirmation calls and guide patients to complete necessary paperwork online.
• Handle messages efficiently and update patient records during each encounter.
• Verify insurance coverage and collect co-payments at the time of service.
• Demonstrate accountability, teamwork, and maintain punctuality and attendance standards.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience

Preferably two years of experience in a general medical office or similar healthcare setting. Equivalent customer service experience with responsibility will also be considered. Graduation from an accredited medical receptionist program or two years in healthcare is preferred.

Certification

American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Mental and Physical Requirements

This position requires considerable mental focus. Physical activities include lifting up to 35 lbs, frequent walking, standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a medical office environment with occasional exposure to infectious diseases and challenging individuals. Minimal physical discomfort is expected.
