General Summary

This role involves continuous observation of telemetry monitors, ensuring patient safety through accurate rhythm identification and timely communication with nursing personnel. You will also handle various administrative tasks to maintain smooth unit operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Adhere to established safety protocols, including infection prevention measures.
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and identify significant changes.
• Ensure proper functioning of cardiac monitoring equipment and promptly report any issues.
• Communicate effectively with nurses and shift managers regarding patient status and monitoring challenges.
• Perform clerical duties such as filing, printing, copying, charge entry, and supply management.
• Maintain accurate patient logs and ensure proper labeling and preparation of charts for scanning.
• Document rhythm changes during treatments and post telemetry strips regularly.
• Keep patient information boards current and answer phones with professionalism and courtesy.
• Collaborate with ancillary departments to coordinate tests and procedures.
• Adapt positively to changes and uphold organizational values and policies.

Education

High school diploma or GED required.

Experience

At least one year of experience in clerical, receptionist, or hospital support roles is preferred. Strong organizational, time management, and basic computer skills are essential.

Certification/License

Successful completion of a Basic Arrhythmia course upon hire is required.

Mental/Physical Requirements

This position demands considerable mental focus and physical activity, including walking, standing, lifting up to 35 lbs, and various movements such as turning, stooping, and reaching.

Working Conditions
