As an Acute Rehab Patient Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting patients' daily needs and ensuring their safety and comfort.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere to established safety protocols including infection prevention and safe patient handling.
• Perform basic patient care tasks such as monitoring vital signs, glucometer checks, assisting with toileting, feeding, bathing, and mobility activities.
• Collaborate closely with nursing staff to promptly respond to patient needs and enhance their overall experience.
• Accurately document patient care activities to support clinical decision-making.
• Communicate relevant patient information to the healthcare team to improve outcomes and quality of care.

Education

High school diploma or GED is preferred.

Experience

At least one year of experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is preferred.

Certification and Training

If uncertified or with less than one year of experience, candidates must complete a specialized Patient Care Assistant training academy. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the first 90 days of employment; training is provided.

Physical and Mental Requirements

This role requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 lbs., standing, walking, and various movements such as turning, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.

Working Environment

Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases through blood and bodily fluids is expected. Occasional encounters with hostile individuals may occur.
