General Summary
The Mammography Technologist delivers patient care using specialized mammographic equipment, creating detailed exam records for radiologist interpretation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operates mammography machinery in line with departmental protocols. Accurately interprets physician orders and applies skills appropriate to licensure and training. Provides patient care tailored to age-specific needs. Maintains patient and departmental documentation. Supports data collection and ensures compliance with MQSA and ACR standards. Oversees aspects of quality control and radiation safety programs. Commits to ongoing professional development and demonstrates exemplary professional conduct.

Education
Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technologist training program is required.

Experience
Preferably one year of experience as a mammography technologist.

Certification/License
Must be either a registered radiologic technologist (ARRT(R)) undergoing mammography training per MQSA guidelines with intent to pass the mammography registry when eligible, or a registered mammography technologist (ARRT(M)).

Mental/Physical Requirements
Requires sustained close mental and visual attention. Frequently works under stressful conditions due to patient needs and customer demands. Must be physically capable of moving throughout the department, including standing, walking, sitting, lifting up to 35 lbs, turning, pushing, pulling, and stooping.

Working Conditions
Potential exposure to infectious diseases, unpleasant odors, anesthetics, disinfectants, chemicals, and controlled radiation. May be subject to on-call duties on a scheduled or regular basis.
