General Summary

As a Chemotherapy Pharmacy Technician, you will accurately prepare IV compounds, perform safety checks including proper labeling and visual inspections, and maintain a clean and organized IV room. Your attention to detail will support the safe and efficient operation of automated dispensing cabinets, including restocking and daily maintenance tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Compound IV medications with precision and care.
• Conduct thorough safety checks during compounding and restocking processes.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the IV room and related areas.
• Manage inventory by placing daily orders, verifying deliveries, and assisting with back-order management.
• Complete all required cleaning procedures and monthly deep cleans of sterile areas.
• Fulfill annual mandatory education and training requirements.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience

At least one year of experience in sterile compounding is necessary; chemotherapy compounding experience is preferred.

Certification and Licensing

Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification is required. Candidates must register or apply for pharmacy registration prior to starting.

Mental and Physical Requirements

This role demands sustained mental concentration and the ability to stand, walk, sit, and lift up to 35 pounds. The work environment includes standard conditions with some deadlines and sensitive situations.
