General Summary

As a Medical Assistant Trainee, you will support patient care by performing delegated clinical tasks such as obtaining vital signs, assisting with EKGs, verifying medications and allergies, and documenting patient information accurately. You will also facilitate communication between patients and providers, assist with medication renewals and authorizations, perform point-of-care lab testing, and help schedule appointments and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety protocols including infection prevention and safe patient handling.
• Escort patients, collect medical histories, and document clinical data promptly.
• Manage phone communications, relay messages, and assist with patient follow-up calls.
• Administer medications as ordered and assist with specimen collection for lab testing.
• Maintain exam room supplies and assist in orienting new medical assistants.
• Demonstrate accountability, teamwork, and adaptability in a fast-paced setting.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Work Experience

This program is tailored for individuals without prior Medical Assistant experience.

Certification/License

American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required and provided through the training program.

Mental/Physical Requirements

Requires considerable mental focus, ability to lift up to 35 lbs, and perform activities such as standing, walking, turning, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.

Working Conditions
