Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Midwest region as a Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse, providing expert patient care through comprehensive nursing knowledge and skills. This role operates independently within the scope of nursing practice, adhering to regional nursing board regulations and facility policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety by following established protocols for infection prevention, safe handling, and critical lab notifications.
• Deliver high-quality nursing care including medication administration, nursing interventions, and patient and family education.
• Participate in quality monitoring and process improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
• Administer conscious sedation, peri-procedural pharmacologic agents, and emergency medications safely as required.
• Conduct thorough initial and ongoing patient assessments to monitor status and communicate findings effectively to the healthcare team.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities, vital signs, cardiac rhythms, medications, and supplies used during procedures.
• Communicate professionally with physicians, nursing staff, patients, and families to support positive healthcare experiences and outcomes.
• Delegate tasks appropriately while fostering teamwork and accountability within the unit.
• Adapt positively to changes in healthcare dynamics and pursue ongoing education to enhance nursing skills.

Education

Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.

Experience

At least one year of critical care or equivalent nursing experience is necessary. Experience in interventional cardiac catheterization lab settings is advantageous.

Certifications and Licenses

Current RN license valid in the state or through compact licensure. BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association are mandatory.

Physical and Mental Requirements

This role demands considerable mental focus and physical stamina, including frequent heavy lifting, extended standing periods wearing lead aprons, and the ability to perform CPR. The nurse must be capable of applying pressure for extended periods and handling biohazardous materials safely.

Working Conditions

Exposure to communicable diseases, radiation, and potentially hostile situations may occur. The nurse must wear full lead attire during procedures and function effectively under stress.
