General Summary

As a Techretary, you will assist licensed nurses by performing limited patient care duties such as taking vital signs, glucometer checks, and specimen collection, all while adhering to established safety protocols. Your organizational skills will help maintain unit functionality through tasks like filing, printing, charge entry, and supply management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Follow hospital policies on infection prevention, safe patient handling, and timely communication of patient condition changes.
• Maintain an organized work environment and support daily unit operations including scheduling and patient room assignments.
• Assist with chart preparation, labeling, and scanning processes.
• Collaborate closely with nursing staff to respond promptly to patient needs and improve care quality.
• Keep quality logs current and communicate effectively with department management and ancillary teams.
• Answer phones professionally and coordinate tests and procedures efficiently.
• Adapt positively to changes while upholding hospital mission and values.

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Experience

At least one year of patient care experience is required.

Certification and Licenses

• BLS certification through the American Heart Association is mandatory.
• Basic Arrhythmia Class completion required.
• Accucheck training required.
• CNA certification is preferred but not required.

Mental and Physical Requirements
