Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Midwest region as an Advanced Respiratory Therapist. This role involves assessing, implementing, and evaluating respiratory care for assigned patients while demonstrating clinical expertise aligned with professional respiratory care standards.

Education

Graduation from a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Care Program is required.

Experience

At least one year of respiratory therapy experience is preferred to ensure familiarity with patient care and clinical procedures.

Certification and Licensure

Active credentialing by the National Board for Respiratory Care is highly preferred. Candidates must hold a valid state license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner. Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory and must be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Deliver quality respiratory care, including administration of pharmacological, diagnostic, and therapeutic agents within the respiratory scope of practice.
• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, monitoring signs and symptoms to improve care quality and patient safety.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities in compliance with organizational policies.
• Adhere to safety protocols such as infection prevention and safe patient handling to ensure a secure care environment.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, patients, and families to enhance patient outcomes and experience.
• Demonstrate dependability by meeting deadlines, working independently, and adapting positively to changes in the healthcare environment.
• Participate in team activities, assist with orientation and clinical instruction, and contribute to departmental projects.

Mental and Physical Requirements

This position requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including walking, standing, lifting up to 35 pounds, and various movements such as turning, stooping, and reaching. Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases is expected, necessitating adherence to safety protocols.
