Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, where your role as an EMR Technician I is vital to ensuring accurate and accessible patient documentation. This position involves a variety of health information management tasks, including retrieving, preparing, scanning, and linking patient records to maintain the integrity and availability of medical information.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage requests for patient health information received via mail, fax, phone, or in-person, verifying patient identity and authorization validity.
- Collect and check-in inpatient, observation, and surgery charts, following up on any missing records promptly.
- Process current patient documentation by assembling, scanning, and linking records according to departmental quality procedures.
- Perform quality assurance on scanned documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Utilize computer systems efficiently, adapting quickly to new technologies and software updates.
- Provide excellent customer service by attentively addressing inquiries and resolving issues politely and professionally.
- Maintain accountability, meet attendance standards, and work independently under pressure.
Education
High School Diploma or GED is required.
Experience
At least one year of clerical experience with computer proficiency is required. Experience in Health Information Management and familiarity with electronic medical records is preferred.
Requirements

- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
- Physical ability to transport charts weighing 5-10 lbs and perform tasks involving standing, walking, reaching, bending, and stooping.
- Good vision and manual dexterity for computer work.
