This role is essential for ensuring the timely and safe transport of sealed medical instruments and allergy serums between clinics and sterile processing departments. You will play a vital part in supporting clinical operations by maintaining strict adherence to biohazard and sterilization protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect and transport sealed, soiled medical instrument containers to sterile processing areas using designated vehicles.
• Deliver sterilized instruments to clinics as specified on instrument checklists, ensuring proper temperature and humidity conditions are maintained.
• Handle allergy serums with care, ensuring temperature compliance and accurate documentation during transport to off-site clinics.
• Transport safety deposit bags securely to banking institutions.
• Maintain accurate counts of instrument containers for each clinic.
• Provide non-emergency patient transportation from residences to healthcare facilities and affiliates.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Basic literacy and ability to follow written and verbal instructions are essential.

Experience

At least one year of experience in a service-oriented role, preferably within healthcare or transportation sectors. Strong customer service skills are required.

Certifications and Licenses

Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and a valid driver’s license (Class E or equivalent) with an annual driver’s exam are mandatory.

Mental and Physical Requirements

Ability to comprehend and follow detailed instructions, lift up to 50 pounds without assistance, and adapt to policies related to transportation duties. Annual physical and vision exams are required.

Working Conditions

This position may involve extended periods of standing, walking, or sitting in a vehicle. Interaction with outpatients is common, and occasional exposure to challenging conditions during transport may occur.
