Education

Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.

Experience

At least one year of critical care or equivalent nursing experience is necessary. Experience in an interventional cardiac catheterization lab is advantageous.

Requirements

• Current RN license valid in the state or through compact licensure.
• BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Ability to perform CPR and physically manage duties such as lifting up to 35 lbs, standing for extended periods wearing lead aprons, and applying pressure during procedures.

Responsibilities include ensuring patient safety through infection prevention and safe handling, administering medications and nursing interventions, and educating patients and families. The nurse will participate in quality monitoring and process improvements, provide conscious sedation and emergent medications as needed, and perform thorough patient assessments to support optimal outcomes.

Effective communication with physicians, nursing staff, patients, and families is essential to enhance care quality and patient experience. The role demands critical thinking, adaptability to healthcare dynamics, and commitment to ongoing professional development.

Documentation duties encompass recording vital signs, cardiac rhythms, medications, and supplies used during procedures, as well as analyzing hemodynamic data. The position involves exposure to infectious materials, radiation, and requires the ability to work under stress in a fast-paced environment.
