General Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers direct patient care by applying the nursing process, demonstrating clinical expertise relevant to the nursing specialty, and upholding the ANA Code of Ethics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Adhere to established safety protocols including infection prevention, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications to ensure a safe care environment.
• Maintain and care for central lines and implement measures to prevent surgical site infections according to policy.
• Provide high-quality nursing care including medication administration, nursing interventions, and patient and family education.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments to monitor status, enhance quality, and support clinical decision-making.
• Document all patient care activities and quality monitoring data to comply with standards and improve outcomes.
• Effectively communicate patient information to physicians and healthcare team members to optimize patient care.
• Delegate tasks appropriately while fostering teamwork and accountability.
• Engage with patients and families promptly to improve the care experience and provide education supporting health outcomes.
• Apply critical thinking in nursing practice and pursue ongoing professional development.

Education

Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.

Experience

At least one year of nursing experience is preferred.

Requirements

• Current RN license valid in the state or through Compact Licensure; new graduates must obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Mental and Physical Demands

This role requires significant mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 lbs., standing, walking, and various movements such as pushing, pulling, and reaching.

Working Conditions
