Key Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor patient safety measures including infection prevention, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications to maintain a secure care environment.
• Coach and support nursing staff to uphold safety and quality standards.
• Manage central line care and surgical site infection prevention according to policy.
• Deliver high-quality nursing care, including medication administration, interventions, and patient/family education.
• Participate actively in quality improvement initiatives and process changes to enhance patient outcomes.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, providing guidance to staff and ensuring accurate documentation.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, families, and team members to promote positive care experiences and outcomes.
• Delegate tasks appropriately while fostering teamwork and accountability.
• Adapt professionally to healthcare dynamics and support organizational mission and values.

Education

Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.

Experience

At least one year of registered nursing experience is preferred.

Certifications and Licenses

• Current RN license valid in the applicable state or compact licensure.
• New graduates must obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.

Physical and Mental Requirements

This role requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 lbs, frequent walking, standing, and various movements such as turning, pushing, pulling, and reaching. Exposure to infectious and communicable diseases is common, requiring adherence to safety protocols.
