General Summary
The Clinical Certification Instructor delivers American Heart Association course curricula to healthcare employees and community members across a regional area in the Midwest. This role includes organizing and conducting new instructor training and mentoring, as well as facilitating workplace violence training and other educational programs as directed by leadership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate and lead classes such as PALS, ACLS, BLS, Heartsaver, PHTLS through NAEMT, workplace violence training, and CEVO Emergency Vehicle Training (for paramedics). Ensure all required documentation is completed for training center coordinators and relevant certifying bodies. Maintain communication with training site coordinators, department directors, and fellow instructors to support effective class delivery. Keep instructor certifications current and participate in ongoing professional updates. Oversee equipment maintenance and cleaning in compliance with infection prevention policies and American Heart Association guidelines. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education
Graduation from an accredited paramedic education program or nursing school is required. Nurses should have knowledge equivalent to an Associate Degree in Nursing.

Certification/Licensure
Current Paramedic, RN, or Compact Licensure within the state is required. Must hold current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, PHTLS, and CEVO (CEVO required only for paramedics). Instructor status for each teaching discipline must be obtained within six months of hire. A valid driver’s license is necessary.

Work Experience
Minimum of three years clinical experience and at least one year of adult teaching experience in health education. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

Mental/Physical Requirements
Requires considerable mental focus, ability to stand, walk, sit, and lift up to 15 lbs. Must be detail-oriented and able to work under time constraints. Some travel within the region is expected.

Working Conditions
Primarily office-based with frequent off-site work and occasional domestic travel. Potential exposure to infectious diseases.
