Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region as a Perioperative/PACU Registered Nurse (RN). This role involves delivering direct patient care through the nursing process, demonstrating clinical expertise, and upholding the highest ethical standards in nursing practice.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Adhere to established safety protocols including infection prevention, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications to maintain a secure care environment.
• Provide comprehensive nursing care such as medication administration, nursing interventions, and patient and family education, all within established policies and procedures.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments to monitor status, enhance quality, and ensure patient safety, while communicating findings effectively to the healthcare team.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities and quality monitoring to support compliance with core measures.
• Communicate pertinent patient information to physicians and team members to improve outcomes and quality of care.
• Engage with patients and families in a compassionate manner to enhance their experience and support health education.
• Delegate tasks appropriately to team members, fostering teamwork and accountability.
• Adapt positively to the dynamic healthcare environment, supporting organizational mission and values.

Education

Graduation from an accredited nursing school is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.

Experience

At least one year of healthcare experience is preferred.

Requirements

• Current RN license in a Compact State or the state of employment.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.

Mental and Physical Demands

This position requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 pounds, frequent walking, standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.

Working Conditions

Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases, as well as occasional encounters with hostile individuals. Minimal physical discomfort is expected.
