Key Responsibilities

• Adhere to established safety protocols including infection prevention, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications to ensure a secure care environment.
• Maintain and care for central lines and prevent surgical site infections following policy guidelines.
• Administer medications, perform nursing interventions, and educate patients and families to support positive health outcomes.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments to monitor status, enhance quality, and provide accurate information to the healthcare team.
• Document all patient care activities and quality monitoring data to support clinical decisions and compliance with quality standards.
• Communicate effectively with physicians and team members to improve patient outcomes and foster teamwork and accountability.
• Engage with patients and families promptly to enhance their experience and provide necessary education.
• Apply critical thinking in nursing practice and pursue continuing education to develop skills and knowledge.

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program is required.

Experience

At least one year of nursing experience is preferred.

Certifications and Licenses

• Current RN license in a state within the Compact Licensure system or equivalent.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications are required.
• Current Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and MANDT certifications are mandatory.

Physical and Mental Requirements

This position requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 lbs., standing, walking, and various movements such as pushing, pulling, and twisting. Frequent exposure to infectious diseases and potential encounters with hostile individuals may occur.
