Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Adhere to established safety protocols including infection control, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications to ensure a secure care environment.
• Maintain and care for central lines while preventing surgical site infections according to policy.
• Administer medications, perform nursing interventions, and provide education to patients and families to support positive health outcomes.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments to monitor status, enhance quality, and communicate findings effectively to the healthcare team.
• Document all patient care activities and quality monitoring data to support clinical decisions and compliance with quality standards.
• Collaborate and communicate with physicians and team members to improve patient outcomes, delegating tasks appropriately while fostering teamwork and accountability.
• Engage patients and families with timely communication and education to enhance their healthcare experience.
• Apply critical thinking in nursing practice and pursue ongoing professional development.

Education

Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.

Experience

At least one year of nursing experience is preferred.

Requirements

• Current RN license valid in the state or through compact licensure; new graduates must obtain licensure within 90 days.
• Certifications required include American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and MANDT.

Mental and Physical Demands

This position requires significant mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 lbs., standing, walking, and various movements such as pushing, pulling, and twisting. Frequent exposure to infectious diseases and potential encounters with hostile individuals may occur.
