Summary: Provide essential patient care by assisting with daily activities and monitoring patient conditions in a long-term acute care telemetry setting. This role involves maintaining a safe, clean, and well-stocked environment while supporting nursing staff in delivering quality care.

Major Responsibilities:

• Assist with patient admissions, including orientation to unit routines and equipment.
• Respond promptly to patient needs, providing direct assistance or notifying appropriate personnel.
• Support nursing care plans by performing delegated tasks.
• Ensure patient safety through proper use of equipment and supplies.
• Manage medication and supply retrieval as per unit protocols.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient areas.
• Participate in cost containment and accurate patient service charging.
• Engage in educational and performance improvement initiatives.
• Perform additional skills such as phlebotomy, 12-lead EKG, and waived lab testing based on competency.
• Demonstrate commitment to customer satisfaction and efficient patient throughput.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Nursing Assistant certification mandatory.

Experience: Prior experience as a Nursing Assistant I preferred.

Requirements:

• Current registration as Nursing Assistant II with the state nursing board and Nursing Assistant I with the Division of Facility Services.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing tasks.
• Basic computer proficiency and understanding of age-specific patient needs.
• Physical ability to perform patient lifting, standing, walking, and bending.
• Compliance with safety protocols regarding exposure to blood and body fluids.
• Certification in BLS by the American Heart Association.
