Position Overview:
Join a dynamic team as a Cardiac Catheterization/Electrophysiology Technologist, performing invasive diagnostic and interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, and radiology procedures. This role involves operating and ensuring quality assurance of imaging and monitoring equipment, while actively participating in various lab functions including scrub, float, monitor, and imaging technology roles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality care tailored to the clinical needs of high-risk cardiac patients, providing education and reassurance throughout procedures.
• Perform scrub duties by preparing sterile fields, readying patients, and assisting physicians during interventions.
• Monitor and document hemodynamic data, EKGs, and pressure waveforms accurately.
• Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, procedural events, and any complications.
• Ensure procedural time-outs are conducted prior to starting cases.
• Act as a communication bridge between floor nursing staff and cath lab personnel regarding patient follow-up and post-procedure care.
• Respond promptly in emergencies, including performing CPR, defibrillation, and documenting such events per policy.
• Adhere strictly to infection control protocols within the cath lab environment.
• Contribute to quality control, preventive maintenance, and performance improvement initiatives within the lab.
• Serve as a lead technologist and preceptor for new staff upon demonstrated proficiency.
• Commit to ongoing professional development to stay current with evolving procedures, equipment, and techniques.
• Understand patient developmental stages to provide age-appropriate care from young adults to seniors.

Education and Certifications:

• Current ACLS and BCLS certifications.
• Completion of radiologic technology and cardiovascular technology programs.
• Certification through ARRT and/or RCIS required.
• Cardiovascular Interventional (CV) or Vascular Interventional (VI) registry mandatory; VI registry candidates have two years to obtain certification.

Experience and Skills:

• Proven experience with invasive diagnostic and interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, and radiology procedures.
• Strong ability to assess patient needs and respond appropriately.
• Comprehensive knowledge of medications, emergency protocols, and medical equipment.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Calm and composed demeanor in high-pressure situations.
• Flexibility to work variable shifts and be on call as needed.

Licenses: BLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
