Summary: Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in a dynamic medical surgical telemetry unit. This role involves active participation in patient assessment, collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, and adherence to individualized care plans.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in patient assessments and contribute to developing comprehensive care plans.
• Deliver nursing care tailored to age-specific physiological needs as directed by supervising nurses.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient care records.
• Administer medications as prescribed by physicians.
• Ensure a safe environment and respond promptly to life-threatening situations.
• Engage in performance improvement initiatives and uphold quality care standards.
• Foster collaborative relationships with healthcare staff and support patients' cultural and spiritual practices within medical guidelines.
• Participate in cost containment and accurate patient service documentation.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in a compact state or equivalent.

Experience: Prior hospital experience preferred, especially in medical-surgical settings.

Skills and Abilities: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Knowledge of age-specific physiological and psychosocial patient needs is essential.

Physical Requirements: Ability to communicate effectively, observe patients closely, and perform physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods. May involve exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials.

Patient Population: Care for patients with acute respiratory and cardiac disorders, renal diseases, neurological conditions, and those undergoing pre- and post-surgical or procedural care.
