Join a dedicated outpatient clinic team in the Southeastern United States, where you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth patient flow and efficient office operations. This full-time, daytime position involves managing patient registration, scheduling appointments, and accurately entering medical codes such as ICD-10 and CPT-4 for billing and documentation purposes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Register patients promptly while collecting accurate information.
- Schedule initial and follow-up visits, coordinating with providers to determine appointment types and durations.
- Collect payments including co-pays and deductibles, documenting receipts and preparing daily cash reports.
- Order and schedule outside tests as requested by physicians.
- Transcribe non-medical dictation and submit billing invoices to the billing department under supervision.
- File, fax, and mail reports and records; compile monthly reports timely.
- Assist with supply inventory tracking and notify supervisors when reordering is needed.
- Serve as receptionist, greeting patients and answering phones in a professional and supportive manner.
- Support non-invasive medical procedures or act as a security observer when required.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; business-related coursework preferred.
Experience: 1-2 years of clerical experience, preferably in a medical business office or a role involving significant public contact.
Skills and Abilities: Familiarity with medical terminology and basic PC skills preferred. Ability to type 45-55 words per minute accurately. Strong organizational skills, tact, and the ability to handle patients under stress are essential. Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT-4 coding for Part B billables is a plus.
Physical Requirements: Must have visual and auditory acuity to read data and converse effectively, manual dexterity, and the ability to lift, stoop, bend, kneel, and reach as needed.
