Overview: Join a dedicated healthcare team supporting both administrative and clinical needs of physicians and licensed medical staff in a busy outpatient podiatry and foot & ankle specialty clinic. This full-time day position offers a rewarding opportunity to provide compassionate patient care and assist in various clinical procedures under professional supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain patient confidentiality, dignity, and well-being at all times.
• Accurately document patient care and interactions during visits and telephone communications.
• Collect and process point-of-care, laboratory, and pathology samples following established policies.
• Perform quality and safety checks on waived testing equipment and supplies.
• Provide patient education as directed by healthcare providers.
• Administer treatments, dressing changes, medications, and therapies under licensed provider orders.
• Assist providers during procedures and examinations, including chaperoning and setup.
• Prepare reusable instruments for sterilization and manage biohazard and pharmaceutical waste per OSHA guidelines.
• Maintain a clean and safe patient care environment by adhering to infection prevention standards.
• Manage supply inventory and ensure availability of necessary instruments and materials.
• Support front desk operations including greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and assisting with coding and billing processes.
• Coordinate with external healthcare partners to facilitate patient care plans.
• Monitor electronic health record communications and respond promptly.
• Perform components of well visits and scheduled nursing visits as directed.
• Complete all required documentation prior to provider visits.
• Conduct high-level disinfection procedures as per policy.
• Flexibility to float to other clinics as needed.

Education and Certifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program with successful certification from a nationally recognized organization such as CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Experience:

• Preferred: Minimum of 1 year clinical experience in an outpatient setting.

Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to recognize and respond to life-threatening situations and activate emergency services.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, and providers both in person and via phone.
• Physical capability to perform clinical tasks including standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
• Comfort with potential exposure to blood or other infectious materials.
