Summary: This full-time night shift role requires a certified Paramedic to provide advanced patient care and transportation services within a busy metropolitan advanced life support ambulance system. The position involves emergency, non-emergency, convalescent, and long-distance transport duties, adhering to state certification and local medical protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform thorough inspections, cleaning, inventory, and restocking of assigned ambulance equipment, reporting any deficiencies promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of assigned areas including bays, locker rooms, and other facilities.
• Respond promptly to calls, including routine transfers and emergency situations, following medical protocols and dispatcher instructions.
• Deliver medical care such as psychological support, airway and bleeding control, splinting, bandaging, and advanced life support procedures appropriate to certification level.
• Operate ambulance vehicles safely and smoothly, maintaining a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Participate in ongoing education and training to meet departmental and medical director standards.

Education and Certifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current Paramedic certification as recognized by the state EMS authority.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Completion of NIMS 100, 200, and 700 courses.
• Maintain all certifications continuously while employed.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Experience:

• Preferred experience with advanced life support services.
• At least one year of field EMS, rescue, or related work experience is advantageous.

Skills and Abilities:

• Comprehensive knowledge of emergency medical procedures, rescue techniques, hazardous material incidents, and pre-hospital care equipment.
• Ability to work calmly and effectively under high-stress conditions, following established protocols.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact compassionately and professionally with patients, families, and healthcare personnel.
• Physical capability to lift and move patients weighing up to 150 pounds with assistance.
• Familiarity with regional geography and healthcare facilities within the southeastern United States.

Physical Requirements: Must have adequate speech, auditory, and visual acuity for effective communication and patient observation. Ability to operate emergency vehicles and navigate various physical environments, including confined spaces.
