Overview: Join a dedicated healthcare team supporting physicians and licensed medical staff in a busy cardiac surgery clinic located in the Southeastern United States. This role involves both administrative and clinical responsibilities, ensuring patients receive compassionate and efficient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with patient vital signs, update charts, and compile relevant data in compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
• Administer care under physician supervision, including treatments, dressing changes, medication administration, and therapies.
• Support providers during procedures and examinations, including chaperoning and setup.
• Handle and prepare instruments for sterilization and manage biohazard and pharmaceutical waste according to OSHA guidelines.
• Maintain a clean and safe patient care environment by following infection prevention protocols.
• Manage front desk duties such as greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and assisting with coding and billing processes.
• Coordinate with external healthcare partners to support patient care plans.
• Monitor electronic health record communications and respond promptly.
• Perform components of well visits and scheduled nursing visits as directed.
• Float to other clinics as needed and perform high-level disinfection tasks.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant II program or enrollment in a master's level Health Science program, or at least 2 years of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Preferred certifications include CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent from recognized organizations.
• Two years of clinical experience in an outpatient setting is preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to recognize and respond to life-threatening situations and activate emergency services.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, and providers both in person and via phone.
• Physical ability to perform clinical tasks including standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
• Comfortable with potential exposure to blood and other infectious materials.
