Overview: Join a compassionate healthcare team supporting OB/GYN physicians and licensed medical staff in a busy outpatient clinic located in the Southeastern United States. This role involves both clinical and administrative duties, ensuring patients receive excellent care and support throughout their visits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with obtaining patient vital signs and update medical records accurately.
• Collect and process point-of-care lab and pathology samples following established protocols.
• Perform quality and safety checks on testing equipment and supplies.
• Provide patient education under provider guidance.
• Administer treatments, dressing changes, medications, and therapies as ordered by licensed providers.
• Support providers during procedures and examinations, including chaperoning and setup.
• Handle and prepare reusable instruments for sterilization and dispose of biohazardous waste according to safety guidelines.
• Maintain a clean and safe patient care environment by adhering to infection prevention standards.
• Manage front desk duties such as greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and assisting with coding and billing processes.
• Coordinate with external healthcare partners to support patient care plans.
• Monitor electronic communication systems and respond promptly to messages.
• Perform components of well visits and scheduled nursing visits as directed.
• Complete all required documentation prior to provider visits.
• Perform high-level disinfection procedures and float to other clinics as needed.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program with successful completion of a nationally recognized certification exam (e.g., CMA, RMA, CCMA).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
• Preferred: At least 1 year of clinical experience in an outpatient setting.

Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to recognize and respond to life-threatening situations and activate emergency services.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, and providers both in person and via phone.
• Physical ability to perform clinical tasks including standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
• Comfort with potential exposure to blood or other infectious materials.
