Key Responsibilities:

• Assess patients and identify individualized care needs promptly and accurately.
• Organize, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care to ensure optimal recovery and safety.
• Maintain a safe and healing environment for patients post-surgery.
• Serve as charge nurse when assigned, demonstrating leadership and organizational skills.
• Document patient care thoroughly and maintain accurate records.
• Administer medications as prescribed by physicians and monitor patient responses.
• Recognize and respond effectively to life-threatening situations.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
• Participate actively in cost containment and accurate patient service charging.
• Adapt care plans to meet age-specific physiological, psychosocial, and spiritual needs.
• Support patients' cultural and spiritual practices within medical guidelines.

Education:

• Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in a Compact state or the relevant state.

Experience:

• Preferred experience in PACU, Emergency Department, or Intensive Care Unit.

Skills and Abilities:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Effective organizational and leadership capabilities.
• Knowledge of age-specific developmental, physiological, psychosocial, and spiritual patient needs.

Physical Requirements:

• Good speech and auditory acuity for clear communication.
• Visual acuity to monitor patient conditions.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift frequently.
• Potential exposure to blood or infectious materials requiring adherence to safety protocols.

Licenses and Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Active Registered Nurse license.
