Overview: Lead and oversee the daily operations of patient access departments, ensuring smooth coordination and high-quality performance. This role emphasizes data integrity and compliance with all relevant healthcare standards including Joint Commission and CMS regulations.

Key Responsibilities: Manage staffing and supervisory activities, collaborate with education coordinators and preceptors for staff development, and maintain compliance with governmental standards for patient access processing.

Education & Certifications: Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) credential is required.

Experience & Skills: Minimum of five years supervisory experience in a hospital or medical office environment. Proficiency in medical terminology and MS Office applications is essential. Must type at least 45 words per minute and demonstrate strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities. Knowledge of insurance processes and payment collections is necessary. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, along with demonstrated customer service aptitude across diverse cultural and economic backgrounds.

Physical & Work Environment: Ability to communicate effectively, see, and hear to collect information. Dexterity to operate office equipment and manage physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally. Work involves extended periods of sitting or standing, with low to moderate noise levels and frequent use of computers and telephones.
