Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Southeastern United States as an Administrative Patient Representative. This role ensures smooth patient flow through the clinic by managing scheduling, billing, and medical records with accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Register patients promptly and collect accurate information.
  • Schedule appointments for initial visits, follow-ups, and procedures, ensuring proper allocation of provider time.
  • Maintain and update patient medical records and new patient information.
  • Handle patient calls, directing them to the appropriate provider and scheduling accordingly.
  • Collect payments including co-pays and deductibles, documenting receipts and preparing daily cash reports.
  • Order and schedule outside tests as requested by providers.
  • Enter ICD-10 and CPT-4 codes for patient activities and procedures into the data system daily.
  • Transcribe non-medical dictation and submit billing invoices to the billing department under supervision.
  • File, fax, and mail reports and records; compile and submit monthly reports timely.
  • Assist in tracking supply inventory and notify supervisors when reordering is needed.
  • Serve as receptionist, greeting patients and answering phones in a professional and supportive manner.
  • Support non-invasive medical procedures or act as a security observer when required.
  • Direct emergency messages and assist administrative or medical staff as needed.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required. Business-related coursework is preferred.

Experience

1-2 years of clerical experience, preferably in a medical business office or a role involving significant public contact.

Skills and Abilities

  • Familiarity with medical terminology and preferred knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT-4 coding for Part B billables.
  • Proficient PC skills and typing speed of 45-55 words per minute with accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with tact and the ability to handle patients under stress.
  • Visual and auditory acuity to collect and process information effectively.
  • Physical ability to lift, stoop, bend, kneel, and reach as needed.
