The Administrator I will oversee a residency training program within the Graduate Medical Education Department, ensuring compliance with accrediting body standards related to medical education. This role involves managing and directing interns, residents, fellows, and medical students in collaboration with the Associate Director of Medical Education. The Administrator I plays a vital role in recruiting residents and medical students to maintain high-quality training aligned with the institution's mission of delivering excellent patient care. Key responsibilities include strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, multitasking, and maintaining confidential records. Assignments may be long-term, requiring tracking and monitoring of accomplishments. Administrative management of continuing medical education programs is also part of the role, including preparation, submission, tracking, negotiation, and syllabus preparation. Additional support is provided to program directors, faculty, and trainees as needed.

Education and Formal Training: An associate degree is required, though a high school diploma with 3+ years of graduate medical education experience may be considered.

Experience: Progressive responsibility in a health-related environment is necessary. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel/Access, and PowerPoint, are required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with hospital staff and community members. Organizational skills are needed to plan and prioritize departmental activities. The ability to relate to diverse professional and nonprofessional individuals to build confidence and support for organizational goals is important.

Physical Requirements: Visual acuity for data review and analysis, mobility throughout the medical center, and the ability to speak and hear clearly to communicate with staff and groups.
