This onsite role serves as a Privacy Analyst supporting corporate compliance initiatives focused on information privacy practices. Reporting to the Corporate Compliance Officer, you will lead privacy training, develop procedures, conduct audits and monitoring, and assist with risk mitigation planning. This position requires an experienced professional capable of analyzing, investigating, and responding to complex privacy issues with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze medical records to ensure compliance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations.
  • Provide education and training based on audit findings and during new employee orientation.
  • Support privacy program operations and contribute to policy development.

Education: A bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related healthcare field is required. Preferred certifications include CHPC (Certified in Health Care Privacy Compliance), CHPS (Certified in Healthcare Privacy and Security), or CIPP/US (Certified Information Privacy Professional U.S. private-sector), or a commitment to obtain one within the first year of employment. Maintaining certification throughout employment is mandatory.

Experience: At least three years of recent experience working within a healthcare privacy program is essential.

Skills and Abilities: Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary to interact effectively with management and staff at various levels. The role demands a high level of confidentiality, proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines without compromising accuracy. Excellent investigative, research, and problem-solving skills are required, along with the capacity to understand complex regulatory environments and maintain attention to detail. Candidates should be comfortable working independently and collaboratively within teams or task forces to gather information, analyze data, meet regulatory deadlines, and report project statuses.

Physical Requirements: Ability to read reports and computer screens, manual dexterity for data entry, mobility to meet with management across service areas, and the capacity to lift over ten pounds. The role may involve extended periods of sedentary work and longer hours to meet objectives. Good hearing and verbal communication skills are essential for interaction with staff, managers, patients, and vendors.
