Overview: Join a dedicated healthcare team as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in a busy pediatric emergency department serving a vibrant Southeastern U.S. region. This full-time night shift role offers the opportunity to provide compassionate, hands-on patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with patient admissions, including orientation to unit routines and equipment.
• Provide direct patient care and respond promptly to patient needs or report concerns to nursing staff.
• Support the implementation of nursing care plans by performing delegated tasks.
• Maintain patient safety through proper use of equipment and supplies.
• Manage and restock supplies to ensure a clean, well-organized patient environment.
• Participate in cost containment efforts and assist with accurate patient service charging.
• Engage in ongoing educational and performance improvement activities.
• Perform additional skills such as phlebotomy, 12-lead EKGs, and waived lab testing as trained and competent.

Education and Certifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant credential required.
• Current registration as Nursing Assistant II with the state nursing board and Nursing Assistant I with the Division of Facility Services.

Experience and Skills:

• Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant I preferred.
• Strong guest relations and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to read and understand English.
• Flexible and adaptable to varying work tasks and schedules.
• Basic knowledge of age-specific patient care considerations.
• Familiarity with basic computer skills.

Physical and Work Environment:

• Ability to work variable shifts, including nights.
• Physical stamina for standing, walking, bending, lifting, and turning patients.
• Visual and auditory acuity necessary for patient observation.
• Exposure to blood and body fluids with adherence to safety protocols.

Licenses and Certifications:

• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• State-required CNA certifications.
