Summary: Support the lead teacher in delivering developmental and care services to children, ensuring a nurturing and high-quality program within a child development center. Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy learning environment for children.

Major Responsibilities:

• Utilize curriculum materials and methods developed by the lead teacher for individual and group activities.
• Collaborate with the lead teacher to discuss program goals tailored to each child's needs.
• Assist in planning curriculum and gathering necessary materials for daily learning experiences.
• Follow established center procedures and routines independently, including diaper changing, emergency protocols, and scheduling.
• Engage positively with children, serving as an appropriate role model.
• Participate in parent involvement initiatives such as newsletters, conferences, and meetings.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards within the learning environment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Training:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of Early Childhood Development coursework (minimum 6 additional hours) from an accredited institution.
• Out-of-state coursework must be reviewed by the relevant state division of childhood development.
• Certification in Heartsaver First Aid, CPR, and AED from the American Heart Association is required.

Experience:

• At least 2 years of professional experience in a childcare or elementary school classroom setting.

Skills and Abilities:

• Understanding of physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development of children from birth to five years.
• Effective reading, writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to observe and respond to children's needs in the classroom.

Physical Requirements: This role involves walking, standing, and lifting children and various objects as part of daily activities.
