Join a dedicated laboratory team in a well-established healthcare setting serving the Southeastern United States region. This full-time role involves the precise analysis of laboratory specimens and timely reporting of results in accordance with established protocols and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance on specimen acceptability, unusual results, and instrument issues.
• Perform accurate testing of specimens following laboratory procedures.
• Report test outcomes promptly and maintain compliance with quality control standards including CAP and JCAHO.
• Conduct routine maintenance on laboratory instruments as required.
• Adhere to safety protocols including universal precautions, bloodborne pathogen standards, and hazardous materials handling.
• Support orientation and training for new staff and students.
• Perform phlebotomy when necessary.
• Assist in coverage during Technical Specialist absences and float between laboratory sites as needed.

Education and Certifications

Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science with clinical training across neonatal to adult patient testing is required. MLS(ASCP) certification is mandatory.

Experience and Skills

No prior work experience required; however, clinical training in diverse patient testing is essential. Candidates should demonstrate responsibility, decision-making ability, teamwork, and effective communication skills across multiple platforms. Flexibility to work additional hours or shifts and manage stress effectively is important.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, perform manual tasks requiring dexterity, and maintain clear verbal communication. The role may involve exposure to blood or infectious materials and requires near visual acuity and color discernment.
